PROMOTING his soon to be released new album, Brit-nominated Newton Faulkner has just announced a list of tour dates, one of which will be at the Ipswich Regent.

The acoustic-guitar virtuoso returns with his second album, Rebuilt By Humans, in September, preceded by the first single, If This Is It, a week earlier.

The 14-date tour starts in October, in Dublin, and includes London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, as well as the date in Ipswich on October 16.

Rebuilt By Humans is the follow-up to his debut album, the number one, million-selling Hand Built By Robots, which spent more than ten months in the top 40 album chart, and became one of the top 20 biggest selling UK digital albums of all time, producing the hit single Dream Catch Me, which spent 43 weeks in the top 100.

Produced by Mike Spencer, Newton Faulkner’s voice ranges from croon to howl on the album with the first single described as a euphoric hymn to the joys of gigging.

He said: “I wanted to avoid the classic second album thing of complaining about how great things have gone and all the hard work.

“I had brilliant fun making this album, and hopefully, it sounds that way. That’s another reason why If This Is It is great for the first single. Hopefully, it comes across as quite grateful, because I am grateful.”

l Newton Faulkner plays Ipswich Regent on October 16. Tickets are £16, available from the box office on 01473 433100.
