EMERGENCY services have cordoned off a village after a large chemical spill.

Parkeston Quay and Ramsey Roundabout were closed by police while the fire services deal with the incident, which happened yesterday at about 8.40am.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene after three people were believed to have inhaled a small amount of a hazardous chemical.

It is understood they were taken to Colchester General Hospital but have since be released.

People are being advised to stay away from the area and keep their windows closed if they live near the spill site.
