THEY will be rocking out at Essex University this weekend with a special metal night.

The Deranged Live Metal Night takes place in the Level 2 bar on the Wivenhoe Park campus with Colchester’s freshest and busiest heavy metal quintet, Sower.

As well as headlining shows at the Twist in Colchester and gigging at various other venues across the area, the band have also managed to nab themselves support slots with top metal outfits, Romeo Must Die and As Ruins Fall.

Finally, taking the stage for their long-awaited debut at Essex University, support comes from Colchester-based Torn Asunder, Dark Revenance and the university’s very own metallers, Judas Syx.

Organised by local metal promoters Bigpoppagriz and Deranged, the night runs from 8pm until 2am and is strictly an over-16s event.

As well as the live bands, there will also be sets from DJs Josh and Xav, Hell Yeah and Griz.

Tickets are priced £4 for members of the university’s rock, indie and metal societies, £5 in advance and £6 on the night.
