THEY are one of the county’s most popular groups and they make a more than welcome return to the AcoustiCity club night at the Headgate Theatre.
AloneMe originally started out as duo, Sarah Springett from Maldon, and David Booth, from Great Leighs, before they added the musical talents of Colchester’s Simon Edgoose.
Most recently they managed to get a £5,000 grant which helped them to record their highly-acclaimed album, Sketch.
It is not only a showcase for the group’s bitter-sweet acoustic pop, but a record that has enabled them to develop that sound.
The band have gigged constantly since their formation in 2003, but the big break game in 2007 when they began work on the new material, which was to become Sketch, at the Loft Studios in Liverpool with producer Nigel Stonier.
This year they are building on the feedback received from the record, gigging all over the area and further afield.
With support from singer and songwriter Emma Black, AloneMe plays AcoustiCity at the Headgate Theatre, Colchester, on Saturday.
Doors open at 7.45pm and tickets are priced £10, available from the box office on 01206 366000.
