THERE’S a sensational summer line-up at Audley End this year.

Once again, English Heritage, which runs the historic house located just outside Saffron Walden, have got together a stella line-up for their traditional picnic concerts.

It will start with a concert by Russell Watson on July 11 and run until the grand finale on August 2, the Last Night of the Audley End Proms, with another opera star, Katherine Jenkins.

In previous years, Audley End has always liked to mix up the musical genres and it is the same in 2009.

Following the evening with Russell Watson will be the very popular return of a firm summer festival favourite, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, on July 18.

Then it’s double Brit award-winning singer songwriter Will Young on July 25 and on August 1 it’s Back to the 1980s with a cavalcade of pop legends, such as the Human League, Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Go West and Heaven 17.

As in previous years the season is rather grandly rounded off in style with the Last Night of the Audley End Proms, which not only has the singing talents of Katherine Jenkins, but also features a thrilling Spitfire display and a firework finale.

Ticket prices vary from each concert, but start from £27 and go up to £30. They are now on sale through See Tickets on 08444 122706, or Ticketmaster on 08448 471637, or by visiting www.picnicconcerts.com
