A teacher who inspired the title character of a series of children’s books is being sought by its author after she lost touch with her.
Carolyn Hink’s book Miss Louise Goes to Paris tells the story of a primary school teacher’s travels to the French capital for a Valentine’s day trip, through the eyes of one of her young pupils.
That pupil is Mrs Hink’s daughter, Vita, who ten years ago went to a nursery school in London’s Notting Hill and was taught by a teacher called Louise.
Mrs Hink was so taken with Louise, who grew up in Dedham, she was inspired to begin writing the book with her as the central character.
And on learning it was to be published and followed by a series of adventures featuring the character, Mrs Hink tried to get in touch with Louise, only to find the school had closed down.
Now she is desperate to trace her and is appealing for help to track her down having last seen her about ten years ago. She may have married since but Mrs Hink thinks her surname was Williams.
