Local produce was the star of the show in a town centre extravaganza.
Visitors to the Colchester Visitor Centre, in Queen Street, were able to sample chocolates, wine and Christmas puddings, all made in north Essex.
Chocolate Chef from Aldham, Carters Vineyard from Boxted and Wilkin and Sons from Tiptree all joined in the fun.
Visitors services officer Claire Taylor said: “We have been having a Christmas spectacular at our end of the town.
“We wanted to do something to support the town centre because the shops are having a bit of a gloomy time.
“We’ve had Christmas entertainment, and the museums will be staying open late so people can have a look around.”
Theresa Higgins, Colchester Council portfolio holder for culture, tourism and diversity, added: “It’s a great event because it has attracted people into the town.
“It’s nice to see a good bit of festive cheer before Christmas.”
