A NEW women’s group is launching in Colchester to promote conversation, connection and community.

The National Women’s Register (NWR) group will give women a place to discuss ideas, enjoy activities and build friendships.

The first meeting is on Friday, November 16, at Stanway Garden Centre.

Claire Kendrick, chief executive of NWR, said: "We are so excited to be launching an NWR group in Colchester.

"This group is a fantastic way for women to meet new friends and participate in vibrant, thoughtful discussions.

"It’s all about growing a welcoming, supportive space for women to express themselves and share their views."

NWR is a membership charity that tackles loneliness by bringing women together through conversations, activities and social events.

The Colchester group will offer discussions, monthly activities and national events such as a monthly quiz and ‘Curiosity Corner’.

Members can also join outings, speaker events and online activities such as gentle exercise classes, virtual coffee mornings, short courses and book clubs.

NWR members also benefit from offers and discounts from selected partners.

The charity has groups across the UK and an online community where women can discuss current affairs, the arts, travel and lifestyle.

Membership costs £37 a year and includes access to the group, online activities, events and partner offers.
