A fallen tree has completely blocked a road near an Essex landmark.
The tree came down on New Street in Chelmsford city centre, within the grounds of Chelmsford Cathedral.
The tree landed across the road and pavement, blocking access to the short-stay car parks on Waterloo Lane.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Please avoid New Street for the time being as a tree in the grounds of Chelmsford Cathedral has come down and is blocking the road.
"Our parks team is dealing with this at the moment.
"They’ll get the tree cleared as soon as possible and we’ll update this page as soon as we know more.
