Businesses prioritising their environmental impact are encouraged to enter the East Anglia Clean & Green Awards 2027.
The Sustainability Strategy Award recognises organisations that are turning sustainability ambitions into practical action, delivering measurable environmental benefits while creating a framework for long-term progress.
Category sponsor Opergy believes the strongest strategies are those that can demonstrate not just vision, but delivery.
Johnathan Reynolds, managing director of Opergy Group, will be looking for evidence that sustainability is embedded within a business.
“We are likely to be most impressed by strategies that are ambitious but practical, rooted in evidence and clearly connected to the organisation’s core purpose,” he said.
“The specific theme matters less than the quality of the strategy. We want to see clear baselines, prioritised actions, accountable leadership, realistic investment and measurable results – including honest recognition of trade-offs, constraints and what still needs to be done.”
For Mr Reynolds, entering the category is also an opportunity for organisations to take stock of their achievements and assess the effectiveness of their sustainability efforts.
“The process should help organisations bring together their evidence, test whether ambitions are matched by delivery and recognise the contribution of colleagues and partners,” he said.
Stakeholder engagement will be another area of focus for the category judges.
“Sustainability challenges rarely sit within the control of a single organisation,” said Mr Reynolds.
“Evidence of meaningful collaboration therefore tells us that an entrant understands the system in which its strategy has to work.”
The entry deadline for the Sustainability Strategy Award is midnight on Sunday, November 8.
