A new easyJet route will launch from Southend Airport next week.
The south Essex hub will now take passengers to Munich, Germany, from next Thursday, September 17.
Munich is one of 30 destinations being added by the end of the year.
Other new routes include Lanzarote, Belfast City, Budapest, Edinburgh, Rovaniemi, Salzburg, and Lyon, all operated by easyJet.
Southend Airport’s business development director said in July that the new flights would attract more travellers from London and the East of England.
Nigel Mayes said: “Passengers from Essex, London and East Anglia can enjoy London Southend Airport’s award-winning customer experience, with short walking distances, fast security processing and excellent rail connections to central London, making the airport an attractive choice for travellers across the region.”
The new routes form part of a growing winter schedule that already includes flights to Berlin and Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland.
Southend Airport was the UK’s fastest-growing airport in 2025, with passenger numbers up 150 per cent on 2024.
It also had the best on-time record of any London airport and ranked fourth across the UK.
Its average delay was the country’s second-lowest at just 10 minutes and 24 seconds.
By the end of the year, Southend will fly to 30 destinations.
The airport’s station has direct trains to London, reaching Stratford in 43 minutes and Liverpool Street in 52 minutes.
Passengers can walk from the station to the terminal in 10 minutes.
Short walks, fast security and reliable rail links are driving the airport’s growing appeal.
The Munich service will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, from September 17 to October 4.
