A road that is used as a rat run by commuters has been closed for urgent works.
Boxted Road, on the outskirts of Colchester, has been shut by Essex Highways to allow resurfacing to take place.
A short diversion route has been put in place while the route is closed.
According to the Essex County Council website the road will be closed until Friday, September 18.
The road is often used by many commuters travelling into work during rush hour.
