HUNDREDS of educators and school staff in Essex gathered for a day of learning and reflection.
More than 500 staff, governors and trustees from across NET Academies Trust attended the annual conference this week.
The event marked the start of the new academic year with a focus on professional development and the trust’s shared mission to improve children’s lives.
Jo Coton, chief executive officer of NET Academies Trust, said: "Whatever our role, we all contribute to the life chances of the children we serve.
"When we work together with a shared vision and shared values, we create schools where every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive."
The conference featured keynote speakers Paul Dix, a behaviour specialist and author, and Ashley John-Baptiste.
Paul spoke about the impact of adult behaviour on children’s success, while Ashley shared his experiences of growing up in care and the value of consistent, supportive relationships.
Staff reflected on how the messages from both speakers reinforced the trust’s commitment to giving every child - regardless of background - the education, care and opportunities they deserve.

Feedback from attendees described the conference as one of the most inspiring and thought-provoking professional development events they had attended.
Staff said they left the day with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to translating the day's learning into everyday practice across the trust’s schools.
As the academic year begins, NET Academies Trust is focused on continuing the conversations from the conference, with schools sharing new initiatives, reflecting on their impact and learning from one another.
