A crash has caused more than a mile of congestion on the A12, with traffic queueing in both directions and part of the road blocked.
The collision appears to have happened on the southbound carriageway, although delays are affecting motorists travelling both ways.
Congestion is reported back past Junction 29 for Ardleigh towards Langham, as well as towards Junction 27 at Spring Lane.
The incident is on the A12 Colchester Bypass before Junction 28 for the A1341, near Colchester United Football Ground.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
