Invasion Colchester to return to city centre in September

Invasion Colchester will celebrate its 15th year on Saturday, September 5.

Every year, the event sees the city centre filled with superheroes, sci-fi legends, movie favourites, gaming icons and cosplayers.

"Whether you're dressing up or just soaking up the atmosphere, there's something for everyone," said a Colchester Council spokesperson.

"For anyone driving, while there are plenty of parking spaces across the city, the most popular car parks fill up quickly on this day and queues can be long.

"We'd recommend using the park and ride if you can, especially as it's free on this day for anyone in costume."

"Best of all, every penny raised from this incredible event supports three amazing local charities."

The event will raise funds for "real-life superheroes doing incredible work in the community", including St Helena Hospice, Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity, and North East Essex Mind.
