A popular city centre bar is closing its doors after nine years of serving up nights out and matchday memories.
Walkabout, the Australian-themed sports bar on Colchester's Head Street, will shut this weekend with final parties planned for Friday and Saturday (August 21 and 22).
The team thanked customers and staff in a statement, reflecting on nine years of "unforgettable" nights out, big sporting moments, and "countless tracks across hundreds of genres."
Walkabout opened in 2017, replacing Missoula just a month after its closure, following a £400,000 investment.
The venue is owned by Stonegate Pub Company.

A spokesman for Walkabout Colchester said: "After 9 incredible years, Walkabout Colchester is closing its doors for a short while.
"Since opening in 2017, Walkabout has given us over 475 weeks of nights out, hundreds of thousands of pints, more bottles of vodka than we can count, countless tracks across hundreds of genres, huge matchdays and more photos than we could ever fit in one post.
"But most importantly, it’s been about the people. To every guest and every member of the team, past and present, we thank you for 9 unforgettable years."
The chain has revealed, however, the venue will not be shut for long as new management are set to reopen the building shortly after the closure.
"While it’s the end of Walkabout’s chapter, it’s not the end for the venue," the spokesman added.
"After a brief closure, it will reopen under new management with a new offer, ready for a brand new chapter."
The closure comes just months after another Head Street venue, Hudson House, shut its doors in February.
