Train services across Essex have been disrupted this afternoon due to trespassers on the tracks.
Trespassers have been reported on the tracks in the Colchester area, forcing services to be cancelled or delayed.
Greater Anglia confirmed that the incident affected a wide range of routes, including:
- Intercity services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich
- London Liverpool Street to/from Ipswich
- London Liverpool Street to/from Colchester Town
- London Liverpool Street to/from Clacton on Sea
- Colchester to/from Walton on the Naze
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "We have been made aware of trespassers on the tracks in the Colchester area.
"Network Rail response teams and the British Transport Police are in pursuit of the trespassers.
"The line at Colchester is currently blocked until it can be confirmed all persons are clear of the line.
"Train services running through this station will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until further notice."
The company said passengers should be prepared for delays and may need to take a different train than originally planned.
The spokesperson added: "Trespassing on the railway is illegal and very dangerous.
"You could be taken to court and face a £1,000 fine."

Passengers with advance tickets are told they can use earlier or later trains if their booked service was cancelled.
Those delayed by 15 minutes or more are advised to claim compensation through the company's Delay Repay scheme.
With temperatures running high throughout the day, Greater Anglia also urge passengers to stay hydrated and use water fountains available at 23 stations across its network, including London Liverpool Street.
The operator said anyone feeling unwell at a station should avoid boarding a train and seek assistance from staff, while those already on board were advised to speak to staff at the next station.
