A COLCHESTER business has joined a growing network to help residents and visitors discover more of what the city has to offer.

Claydons-Nisa in Colchester has become the latest organisation to display the Visit Colchester Discover Map window sticker and offer free Discover Maps to visitors.

The shop joins other businesses, attractions and transport hubs supporting the tourism initiative.

The Discover Map supports Visit Colchester's work to help  people discover the city's attractions, events, independent businesses, heritage sites and cultural venues.

Darius Laws, councillor responsible for culture, heritage and the environment at Colchester Council, said: "Colchester has an incredible story to tell, from our unique heritage and thriving cultural scene to our fantastic independent businesses and city centre attractions.

"The Visit Colchester Discover Map helps people uncover all that our city has to offer, and we're grateful to Claydons-Nisa for helping put that information directly into the hands of residents and visitors.

"By acting as a collection point, businesses like Claydons become part of the visitor experience, welcoming people into the city centre and helping to support a thriving local economy."

Produced by the Visit Colchester team at the Visitor Information Centre in Hollytrees Museum, the Discover Map highlights attractions, shopping areas, cultural venues, parks and places to eat and drink across the city.

The scheme also helps encourage visitors to explore more of the city centre, benefiting businesses and the wider economy.

Kelly Sutton, owner of Claydons-Nisa, said: "We're delighted to support Visit Colchester and help showcase everything that makes our city such a great place to visit.

"Whether people are visiting for the first time or rediscovering Colchester for themselves, we want to help them make the most of their time here.

"The Discover Map is a simple way to help people discover more of what's on offer, from independent shops and restaurants to attractions and cultural venues across the city, and we're pleased to play our part."

The Visit Colchester team provides information and assistance to visitors from across the world throughout the year.
