Police are renewing calls for the public's help to trace missing 17-year-old Walid Sami, who disappeared from Colchester more than a month ago.

Walid was last seen in the St Dominic Road area around 11pm on Sunday, June 21, and has not been seen since.

He is described as 5ft 4in tall, with dark hair featuring blond highlights, shaved sides, and a zig-zag pattern on the left side.

He was last seen wearing a light blue tracksuit.

Temporary Inspector Robert Partridge said: "We continue to build a picture of Walid’s life, behaviours and movements before, including a review of CCTV from the time he went missing.

"While we have made progress since he was reported missing on June 22, we are still appealing for the public’s support."

Officers say Walid may also be using the names Aomar El Khalil or Aomar Rhalabi Ibrahim El Khalil.

T/Inspector Partridge added: "Any piece of information about him, especially anything relating to his whereabouts and activity in the last month, could prove vital to our work.

"He may be visiting mosques in Colchester, so if you know Walid or see him there please get in touch and help us make sure he’s safe."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting incident 373 of Monday, June 22.

Reports can be submitted through the force website or by using the 24-hour online Live Chat service.

Alternatively, you can call 101.
