A stretch of the A12 has been closed following a collision, with long delays building on the northbound carriageway.
The road is shut between junction 24 for Kelvedon and junction 25 for Marks Tey after the incident was reported earlier today (Friday, July 3).
Traffic is heavily congested in the area, with queues stretching back to junction 22 at Witham North.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for their journeys.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
