A stretch of the A12 is currently closed following a reported multi-vehicle collision, with long delays building in the area.
The northbound carriageway is shut between junction 23 and junction 24 for Kelvedon after the crash was reported this afternoon (Friday, June 26).
Traffic is heavily congested along the Witham Bypass, with queues stretching back to junction 21 at Witham South.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for their journeys.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
