Emergency services have issued an update after an air ambulance was seen taking off from a Colchester school.
A video showed the helicopter taking off from King's Ford Academy in Shrub End.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that the air ambulance was on the playing fields for more than two hours, along with road ambulance crews.
A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to King's Ford Academy in Gloucester Avenue this morning following reports of a child injured in a fall from a scooter.
"One child was transported by road ambulance to Colchester General Hospital with a serious injury."
