THREE people accused of carrying out a revenge attack have been cleared of all wrongdoing.

Stevie Mortar, Charlie Flemming, and James Flemming were accused of beating up a man in Colchester in retaliation for him shoving Mortar when she allegedly confronted him at his house.

The man’s stepdaughter told a jury sitting at Ipswich Crown Court that Mortar drove the two of them to Terling where Mortar picked up her partner, James Flemming, and his brother Charlie.

The court heard the five then drove back to Colchester where Mortar, Charlie Flemming, James Flemming, and a fourth man allegedly kicked down the door to the complainant’s house and beat him up.

The man's step-daughter claimed she was made to witness the assault.

Charlie Flemming, of Lamberts Orchard, Braintree, denied one charge each of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and causing grievous bodily harm.

He was acquitted by a jury on judge’s directions on both counts.

Mortar, of Hull Lane, Terling, and James Flemming, of Bennet Close, Braintree, both denied one charge each of grievous bodily harm.

Both were acquitted unanimously by jurors who took less than an hour to reach their verdicts.
