A lifeboat crew and coastguard helicopter were sent to search for a person drifting out to sea on an inflatable off the Essex coast.
Clacton RNLI said its D class inshore lifeboat was launched at about 3.03pm on Wednesday after reports of an inflatable drifting with one person on board, near Frinton Golf Club.
The lifeboat headed towards Frinton alongside a UK Coastguard helicopter and coastguard ground units.
When crews arrived, the person had already made it safely back to shore and was in the care of coastguard teams.

Following the call-out, Clacton-on-Sea RNLI issued a reminder that inflatables should not be used in the sea because their lightweight design makes them vulnerable to winds, tides, and currents.
The charity warned this can cause users to be swept out to sea within seconds.
