THE heatwave has seen drivers flocking to Dedham and once again ignoring the new double yellow line restrictions.
Photos taken on Wednesday show around a dozen vehicles brazenly parked over the double yellow lines on the main route into the village, which residents say makes leaving Dedham or arriving from the A12 nearly impossible.
The restrictions were introduced earlier this month after repeated warnings about tourist parking in the picturesque corner of the Dedham Vale, an officially designated Area out Outstanding Natural Beauty which has seen visitor numbers surge in recent years.
Double yellow lines were brought in to keep routes clear for locals and emergency services, following long-running complaints that the village was being treated “more like a festival” than a place where people live and work.

Villagers fear it is only a matter of time before blocked junctions and narrowed carriageways cause a serious accident, or delay an ambulance trying to reach a call.
With temperatures still climbing, another busy weekend is on the horizon.
Last week, Dedham Parish Council confirmed double yellow line restrictions apply on the pavement and verge as well as the carriageway and that the new restrictions are officially enforceable.
More than a dozen penalty charge notices have already ben issued by the council’s Parking Enforcement officers.
