Traffic is building on the A12 this morning rush hour.
Queues are reported London-bound on the Colchester Bypass, between Cymbeline Way and Crown Interchange.
One lane remains blocked as Google Maps says this is due to an "accident" on the major road.
Essex Highways' traffic control shows there is heavy traffic on roads around Colchester city centre as a result.
