PEOPLE, educators and businesses across Essex are invited to get involved in the Dyslexia Awards.
The awards, founded by Elizabeth Wilkinson MBE, will take place this autumn in the West Midlands, highlighting the achievements of people with dyslexia.
Elizabeth said: "Each ceremony brings new stories of extraordinary talent and perseverance that truly inspire.
"Every Dyslexia Awards celebration evening is packed with individuals whose achievements deserve the spotlight."
The 2026 awards feature eight categories exclusively for dyslexics, with two new additions this year: the STEMM Award, for those over 18 making an impact in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine, and the Young Innovator Award for people aged 14 to 19.
Other categories include Amazing Artist (18+), Community Shining Star (20+ and 13-19), Innovation (18+), Entrepreneur (21+), and Young Entrepreneur (16-21).
Previous winners have gone on to make significant contributions in their fields, showcasing the creative and innovative strengths of dyslexic thinking.
Jacqueline Stockwell, founder and chief executive of Leadership Through Data, who won the Entrepreneur Award (21+) at the last Dyslexia Awards ceremony in 2023, was praised by judges as "a visionary and an innovator".
She encouraged others to take part in the 2026 awards.
Dyslexia affects around one in 10 people and involves a range of challenges with language processing, memory and retention.
Elizabeth, who was made an MBE for her services to the dyslexic community, said: "With appropriate teaching and the encouragement to follow their dreams and strengths, dyslexics can and do succeed in all walks of life and professions."
The Dyslexia Awards began as a regional event in Shropshire and has since grown into a nationally recognised celebration, reflecting increased awareness and advocacy for dyslexic individuals across the UK.
Notable figures from the arts, sports and business continue to share their stories, helping to promote a more inclusive society.
