ABACUS Little Learners pre-school in Colchester has received a Strong Standard in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection.

The report praised owner and manager Beth Dagge and her team for "high-quality, inspirational and magical learning environments indoors and outdoors" which help children flourish.

Beth said: "When I took over Abacus Little Learners two years ago, I had a clear vision: to create an exceptional preschool where children feel happy, valued, and inspired every single day.

"I know how important it is to get those first learning experiences right.

"To have Ofsted recognise our learning environments as 'inspirational and magical', and to achieve a Strong Standard in every area, is a wonderful endorsement of the commitment and passion of our entire team.

"As a Colchester resident and school governor, I care deeply about supporting local families, and we look forward to welcoming more children into our community."

With more than 20 years of experience as an early years teacher, Beth took over Abacus Little Learners two years ago, bringing her vision and expertise to the setting.

She is also a Colchester resident, school governor  and mother of three.

The Ofsted report highlighted the pre-school’s “exciting and meaningful learning opportunities” which ignite curiosity and create “treasured memories” for children.

Inspectors were particularly impressed by the setting’s outdoor learning and Forest School, which help children build confidence, develop a love of nature, and enjoy fresh air and exercise.

The report described the environment as warm and welcoming, noting how "children are thrilled as they are greeted by happy, attentive staff who are genuinely pleased to see them".

The strong standard judgement is awarded to settings delivering the highest levels of consistent, high-quality practice which supports children's learning, development and wellbeing.

Abacus Little Learners has announced that a limited number of places are available for September, following increased interest after the Ofsted inspection.

Parents looking for a place for their child are encouraged to book a visit soon due to high demand.

The pre-school is located in Colchester, near St John’s Primary School, and offers a child-centred curriculum focused on confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
