A new route to a popular holiday spot is set to launch this month from Stansted.

AJet will begin operating twice-weekly flights to the much-loved Turkish resort of Bodrum from the Essex airport, starting June 26.

The launch marks the start of AJet's strategic partnership with tourism giant TUI with Bodrum set to become a major hub for the airline amid a host of new routes from Europe.

TUI will provide sales and capacity support on the route, with tickets available through AJet’s channels and all TUI platforms.

Bodrum, located along the Turkish Riviera, is known for its lively nightlife, boutique hotels, and historic sites such as Bodrum Castle.

The region, also called the Turquoise Coast, stretches around 1,000 kilometres along Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean shores.

AJet's website states: "Located on the turquoise coast of the Aegean Sea, Bodrum is one of Turkey’s most iconic holiday destinations. Famous for its whitewashed houses, bougainvillea-covered streets, and crystal-clear bays, the city perfectly blends history, culture, and relaxation.

"From the historic Bodrum Castle to its vibrant marinas, Bodrum captures the essence of seaside living at its finest. Part of the naturally rich Muğla region, Bodrum enchants visitors with its beaches, ancient ruins, and lively Mediterranean spirit.

"Whether you’re exploring coastal villages, enjoying local cuisine, or watching the sunset over the harbor, every moment in Bodrum feels unforgettable. Fly to Bodrum with AJet and experience the radiant charm of the Aegean."

The announcement comes during a period of ongoing growth at Stansted, with several new routes recently introduced.

TUI began flights to the Greek island of Kos on May 7, while BA CityFlyer launched services to Olbia in Sardinia on May 23.

Jet2 also expanded its summer offering from Stansted, adding flights to Jerez in Spain from May 1 and Samos in Greece from May 7.
