A person has died after being struck by a train on the Greater Anglia network, British Transport Police has confirmed.
The incident happened between Tottenham Hale and Cheshunt, causing significant disruption to train services across the network, including routes into Essex and Stansted Airport.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We were called to Northumberland Park station at 11.40am on Friday 15 May, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A number of Greater Anglia services were cancelled, delayed or revised as a result.
