Train delays between Colchester and London after fault

Commuters are facing severe disruption to rail services due to a train fault.

Greater Anglia is warning passengers that services to and from the capital will be disrupted this morning as a result of the incident.

The 7.03am Harwich Town to London Liverpool Street service developed a fault after departing Colchester.

The driver is investigating the fault but now as a result services towards London are at a standstill.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "Due to a train fault at Colchester, some lines are blocked.

"Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice."

The routes currently affected by the incident are:

London Liverpool Street < - > Norwich
London Liverpool Street < - > Ipswich
London Liverpool Street < - > Clacton
London Liverpool Street < - > Colchester Town

It is not yet clear when services will be back up and running.
