ANOTHER significant item belonging to missing psychologist Vitória Figueiredo Barreto has been found in Brightlingsea.
Essex Police and communities across Essex are continuing to search for Vitória, 30, who was last seen on Tuesday, March 3 at the University of Essex campus in Wivenhoe.
Vitória had been staying in the Southend area with a friend but had travelled to the campus where she had been taking part in academic research.
Police know Vitória boarded the number 87 bus on Boundary Road just after 1pm. She was seen on doorbell footage in the Hurst Green area of Brightlingsea at around 2.30pm.
She was wearing a dark coat, a blue turtleneck jumper, light blue jeans and dark trainers with white soles.

Last Monday, almost a week after she was last seen, Vitória’s tote bag was located by a member of the public in a greenspace off Copperas Road.
Essex Police identified CCTV footage of a person they believe to be her jumping over a fence into a boatyard, close to where the bag was found, shortly after midnight on March 4 – around 10 hours after the confirmed sighting in Hurst Green.
Vitória’s loved ones have been raising awareness and sharing information on the ‘Find Vitoria Barreto’ Facebook page.
On Mother’s Day, a spokesperson for Vitória’s loved ones confirmed her laptop had been found in Brightlingsea.
“Maybe today will bring more answers,” they said in a statement on the page.
“We wanted to let you know that Vitória’s laptop has now been found in Brightlingsea. It is with the police.
“At this time we do not know exactly where it was found or by whom but we hope that this will enable some helpful information to be retrieved.
“Please stay alert to any unusual items that are ‘out of context.’ We believe we are still looking for her black rucksack, phone, bank cards and the missing buoyancy aid. Most importantly we are looking for Vitória.
“We really do appreciate your continued support.”
