AN Olympic athlete from Colchester shared the story of his journey to Paris 2024 with students.
Lewis Richardson visited Trinity School to speak with students about his career and the path which led him to compete on the world stage.
During his visit, Lewis spoke about growing up in Colchester and the determination which fuelled his boxing journey.
He described his Olympic qualification bout, in which he won the final two rounds under pressure to secure his place at the Paris Games.
Lewis also highlighted the importance of balancing sports and education, sharing how he earned a master's degree alongside his boxing training.
He offered words of encouragement to Year 10 and 11 students preparing for their GCSE exams.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session.

Students asked him about his role models, how he overcomes mental challenges, why he chose boxing, and his future ambitions beyond the sport.
Year 11 student Toyosi said: "It was really inspiring to hear about the journey that someone from Colchester has been on and how he has achieved great success.
"It gives us all some extra motivation to chase our dreams."
