An iconic car from the 1960s is due to go up for sale in Colchester hoping to fetch a hefty sum.

Introduced in 1961, the E-Type Jaguar became known as being one of the most beautiful cars ever made with its attractive lines and 150mph top speed.

Reeman Dansie auctioneers will be hoping this example of the famous car will sell at their upcoming classic car, vehicle and automobilia auction which takes place on Saturday, February 21.

With a registration plate of UXG 135, the 1961 Jaguar E-Type is a series 1 3.8 litre flat floor roadster and will be listed with a guide price of between £55,000 and £65,000.

It is a desirable early car, supplied new to Canada and was imported to the UK by the late owner in 2004.

At this point Reeman Dansie believe the car was converted to right-hand drive and was subject to a full nut and bolt restoration to a high standard.

It is attractively finished in its original Jaguar Racing Green with tan hide upholstery and black hood.
