A COLCHESTER girls’ school is hosting a careers fair to empower the next generation of female leaders.
St Mary’s School in Colchester will hold its Future Females Careers Fair from 11.30am to 1pm on Saturday, March 7, in celebration of International Women's Day the following day.
The event is aimed at helping girls imagine and plan for their future careers.
Open to girls in Year 4 (age eight) and above, the event also welcomes parents and will take place at St Mary’s Senior School on Lexden Road.
Nicola Griffiths, principal of St Mary’s Colchester, said: "Following the success of our first Future Females Careers Fair last year, we are delighted to be welcoming the event back.
"This year’s fair will feature some of the career pathways that proved particularly popular with pupils last year, alongside different career routes for girls to explore.
"By hearing first-hand from professionals about their individual journeys, our pupils are encouraged to think boldly about their futures.
"At St Mary’s, we strive to create an environment where girls feel empowered to take risks, follow their passions and see the world as full of opportunity, free from judgement and stereotypes.

Girls will have a chance to speak to professionals from a wide range of industries, including policing, technology, finance, the armed forces, animal conservation, hospitality, and photography.
The event returns after the success of the inaugural fair last year.
