The UK could be in line for another snow storm with the "Beast from the East" threatening to move in.

Advanced weather maps courtesy of WXCharts which utilises data from Met Desk has indicated another downturn in conditions later this month.

The map shows a number of areas are due to be hit with wintry conditions as close to home as Cambridge and Suffolk.

The Beast from the East it Essex back in 2018 and now it could be set to return.

The Met Office long range weather forecasts also warn of the potential of snow.

Their forecast for between January 19 and January 28 states: "Later in the period, there is an increased chance that conditions will turn colder.

"This aspect of the forecast is still somewhat uncertain but the potential transition to colder weather also increases the chance of snow across parts of the country."

Their forecast for between January 29 and February 12 states: "Initially, slowly evolving weather patterns are most likely in the vicinity of the UK, with low pressure typically to the west or southwest and high pressure to the northeast.

"This configuration brings an increased chance of cold conditions affecting parts of the UK, and the associated risk of wintry hazards at times.

"Deeper into February, and whilst confidence is naturally low, there may be a transition to more widely unsettled conditions and perhaps a corresponding recovery in temperature back closer to average."

The Beast from the East could bring heavy snow and bring temperatures to as low as -10C according to WXCharts.

The list includes neighbouring counties and with time it could change and result in Essex coming under threat from the incoming storm.
