STANSTED Airport has welcomed a new airline which will offer 15 flights to Turkey every week from this spring.
Turkish Airlines, one of the world’s largest carriers, will operate its first flights from Stansted to Istanbul from March 18 as part of a raft of new routes from the UK's fourth-busiest airport.
Passengers can then fly from the Turkish capital to 353 destinations across Asia, Africa, Australia and beyond.
As well as welcoming Turkish Airlines to its fleet of carriers, Ryanair – which uses Stansted as its designated home airport – will add two flights every week to Malmo, Sweden, from April 1 onwards.
It will also offer more services to Glasgow from March 29.
Budget airline easyJet start flying to Paris Charles de Gaulle from March 5, while AJet will launch flights to Bodrum in Turkey from 26 June.
Jet2.com is expanding its summer programme with new routes to Jerez in Spain from May 1, Samos in Greece from May 7, and La Palma in the Canary Islands from October 26.
TUI will introduce flights to Kos from May 7, and BA City Flyer will start services to Olbia in Sardinia from May 23.
