Colchester fireworks in Castle Park left crowd in awe

Almost £12,000 worth of pyrotechnics set the sky sparkling with a dazzling display that left spectators in awe.

The city’s annual celebration was organised by local charitable group King Coel’s Kittens to raise funds in support of local people with special needs.

Jackie Bowis, chairwoman at Kings Coel’s Kittens, said: “What an evening.

“Over 9,000 people enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display by Dynamics Fireworks and Entertainment from Michael J Fitch.

“My thanks to all those who helped with the event. It takes over 100 people to put on this event.

“My grateful thanks to everybody who attended the evening and helped to raise valuable funds to purchase tangible items for people with special needs living in the local community.”

Friends and families enjoyed the traditional Guy Fawkes procession around the park before the fireworks filled the crowd with delight.
