A person who was hit by a train which caused delays to services across the Greater Anglia network has died.
The incident was reported yesterday afternoon between Hackney Downs and Chehsunt
As a result, all lines between those stations were closed while emergency services carried out their work.
Various lines were also affected by the incident.
Disruption was expected until 5pm but the lines remained affected until around 8pm.
It has now been confirmed the victim died following the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 1.15pm yesterday, November 3, near Northumberland Park underground station.
"Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
"The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
