AN Essex railway line is blocked after a person has been hit by a train.
Disruption is expected until the early afternoon today after a person has been hit by a train between Shenfield and Colchester.
The incident was first reported shortly after 10.30am this morning. Disruption is expected until 1pm.
Routes between London Liverpool Street and Colchester Town/ Braintree/ Clacton/ Ipswich and Norwich are affected.
A National Rail spokesperson said: “A person has been hit by a train between Shenfield and Colchester.
“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
“Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
“If you've been affected by what happened on the network today, there is always someone to talk to.
“You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 from any phone for a confidential chat.”
