Fashion fans in Essex will soon be able to shop Topshop on the high street again, as the iconic brand returns to physical stores after a four-year absence.
John Lewis has announced that Topshop clothing will be available in 32 of its UK stores from February 2025, including its Chelmsford branch in Essex.
The partnership marks the first major high street comeback for Topshop since all its standalone stores closed in 2021 when parent company Arcadia collapsed.
"We think this is something people will queue outside the door for," Ruis said, adding that the partnership aims to bring in "family day out" shoppers across all age groups.
For Essex shoppers, the Chelmsford John Lewis store will offer the full Topshop experience, bringing back the brand that was once a staple of British high streets.
The brand has been owned by online retailer Asos since 2021, but customer demand for physical shopping experiences has driven this return to stores.
Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, confirmed that customers have been "desperate to see Topshop back in stores" and expects the partnership to draw new customers to John Lewis who might not have visited before.
The collaboration comes as John Lewis continues its transformation plan, investing heavily in fashion to drive growth ahead of the crucial Christmas trading period.
While Topman products will also launch, they will initially be available in just six John Lewis locations nationwide.
Essex fashion enthusiasts won't have to wait long – the Topshop range launches in John Lewis Chelmsford this February.
