Essex University has been named in the top 50 universities in the UK, according to a new ranking for 2026.
For students who might be looking to apply through clearing, the Daily Mail guide is helping find the best place to study.
Out of nearly 150 universities, Essex came in at 41 in its guide for the best and worst places to study across the UK.
In many rankings, the university is ranked in a respectable position.
Only last month it was named in the top 20 for student positivity and it was even placed 29th in the complete university guide for 2026.
Imperial College London came out in top spot, closely followed by Oxford.
In terms of closer choices, the University of East Anglia unfortunately outranked them at 33rd.
But Essex managed to gain a higher place than nearby University of Suffolk which was tied in 56th.
Essex University was described in the article as having "built a global reputation in politics and the social sciences and has always attracted a high proportion of international students".
Students can still apply for a number of courses through clearing.
