A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after a medical emergency at Old Heath Recreation Ground.
The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance landed on the playing field at about 12.30pm on Friday.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: "It all kicked off around 12.30pm.
"Emergency vehicles entered from the Port Lane car park, as the music event was already set up at the Wimpole Road end and the air ambulance came last.
"My husband saw paramedics, two ambulances and the police, and he thinks he saw CPR being given earlier on."
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 12.30pm on Friday, May 2 to a medical emergency on the Recreation Ground in Old Heath Road in Colchester.
"An ambulance, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
"An adult man was taken to Colchester General Hospital in a serious condition.”
