EMERGENCY services have confirmed a woman is being treated for burns after a fire broke out at retirement flats in Coggeshall.

The fire broke out at Prail House nursing home on Vesta Close at around 8pm this evening.

Three fire engines, five ambulances, and two police cars are attended the scene, as well as an air ambulance. 

Emergency services have confirmed a woman had 'suffered burns'.

A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a fire in Vesta Close, Coggeshall today at 7.50pm.

"Crews from Coggeshall, Tiptree and Colchester attended.

"The fire was out on arrival, but a woman had suffered burns.

"Crews administered first aid and left her in the care of the ambulance service."

Emergency services have now left the scene.
