Following the news of the plans to renationalise the railways, we got some reaction to see what people think.
The renationalisation of the railways is a hot topic, with Labour announcing the plans to take shape in 2025.
Three rail operators will be nationalised - Greater Anglia, C2C and South Western Railway.
Here's what people had to say ahead of the plans.
Mark Leslie, chairman of the Kelvedon rail users association said: “I’m positive about getting everyone back together acting as one house.
“I don’t have any concerns about it in particular, but trains to Kelvedon on Sunday’s would be good.
“I’m reasonably optimistic about it all, but I guess the proof will be in the pudding and we will only know how well it has been approached by the government in a couple year’s time.”
One Colchester resident, Paul Ost said: “As I am approaching retirement I would like to travel around the country.
“Photography is my interest and so I purchased a Railcard. When I have used rail recently, I have been impressed with the service and quality of trains by greater Anglia.
“But now I am a little nervous, labour has not impressed me with their policies so far, and I am not confident they can improve rail transport.
“This could be long term, a big step backwards."
A frequent commuter from Alresford to London, Callum Lee said: "It could go one way or the other, but depends on the funding it gets coming out of our taxes.
"My monthly train ticket from Alresford to London costs me £600 which is a big hit and despite getting refunded if a train is cancelled or delayed, it can cause some big issues for myself."
"Hopefully this will have a positive effect on the trains."
