TWO top support acts have been revealed to be playing alongside a famous rock band at a new open air concert coming to Colchester next summer.
Australian-British singer-songwriter and actress Natalie Imbruglia, and Scottish country-folk singer Rianne Downey will be supporting Scottish legends Texas at the Colchester Castle Summer Series.
Texas was revealed to have joined the ever-growing list of musicians coming to the city venue next August earlier this month.
Now, bosses have announced the two support acts to add to the exciting show.
Natalie Imbruglia is an Australian-British singer-songwriter and actress who rose to fame in the mid-1990s for her role as Beth Brennan in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
After relocating to the UK, she embarked on a successful music career, releasing her debut album, Left of the Middle, in 1997.
The album's lead single, Torn, became an international hit, topping charts worldwide.
Imbruglia has since released several other albums and continues to perform and record music.
Rianne Downey, like Texas, is a fellow Scottish act.
The country-folk singer has been on tour with Paul Heaton throughout the year, growing fast from busking in Glasgow.
The duo joins an array of talented support acts as part of the series of shows next summer.
Scouting For Girls, Happy Mondays, Lightning Seeds, The Waeve and The Zutons are among the support stars already named.
These are alongside headliners Busted, Craig David, UB40, James and Texas themselves.
With each show welcoming up to 10,000 attendees, the Colchester Castle Summer Series is set to be the largest music event the city has seen in years.
Further line-up announcements are still to be revealed.
Texas, Natalie Imbruglia and Rianne Downey will be performing at Castle Park on August 21.
