A COLCHESTER photographer has helped raise more than £1,000 for two important charities in memory of a dear friend.

Cat Maund, from Colchester, is a canine and equine photographer who runs The Art House Photography.

Cat put on the Captured4Caroline event to raise funds for Spinal Research and the British Eventing Support Trust.

The event was in tribute to her best friend Caroline March, from Colchester, who died through assisted suicide in March at just 31, two years after suffering life-changing injuries in a cross-country fall.

Her Captured4Caroline event was held then reached out to Langham Hall Estate, with owners Kate and Charlie Warbuton allowing Cat to use it on the day for free.

The event earlier this month was the follow-up event to a prior Captured4Caroline canine addition, held in Highwoods Country Park in October.

This was held by Cat and run with the help of her friend Jo, a photographer who owns The Canine Lens.

The event ended has more than £1,300 so far.

“Doing what Caroline and every equestrian loves – a good gallop on their horse.”

Kate Warburton of Langham Hall Estate said: “We are happy that could contribute to a good cause.

“We know the March family through our own horses and within the eventing community.

A further event taking place in Caroline's memory will be the Cycle4Caroline event.

It has been organised by Caroline’s brother, Tom and his wife, Piggy March, Caroline’s sister-in-law.

They will be cycling 1,100km across the UK between November 20 to November 30.

Additional stars from the equestrian and sporting world will join individual journey legs, including members of Team GB’s 2024 gold medal-winning Olympic team, former Olympians, World and European Champions.
