A JURY has been sworn in ahead of the trial of a mother and father accused of a serious assault in Colchester city centre.
Bibi Stone and Alex Potter appeared in the dock at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday accused of burglary, criminal damage and grievous bodily harm.
It is alleged the pair entered an address in St John’s Avenue, Colchester, and then stole a wallet and tobacco.
The pair are then accused of arming themselves with a knife and harming Lee Jackson.
Stone, 38, of Tony Webb Close, Colchester, was dressed all in black when she attended court on Monday.
Potter, 32, of Deck Place, Colchester, was dressed in a blue North Face jumper.
Both deny all the charges against them.
A trial, which is expected to take six days, is due to begin on Tuesday.
At a previous hearing in April, the court was told Stone and Potter have one son together.
Defence barrister Ian Kane successfully argued for Stone to be released on bail on the condition she wore an electronic tag and did not contact Potter, who has remained on remand.
