COLCHESTER United host Bromley in League Two, this afternoon.
The U's are aiming to chalk up a second home league win of the season when they take on the Ravens.
From likely line-ups to key men and the referee, all you need to know can be found below ahead of the League Two clash at the JobServe Community Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
Team news
Colchester could hand a debut to new loan signings Anthony Scully (pictured below) and Jamie McDonnell, who have arrived on loan from Portsmouth and Nottingham Forest respectively.
Colchester will be without Milton Oni for several months after he suffered a serious knee injury against Brentford last month.
The U’s will also be without defender Fiacre Kelleher, who is on the comeback trail following a knee injury along with Aaron Donnelly, who is on international duty with Northern Ireland under-21s and played in their 0-0 draw with England last night.
Predicted line-ups:
Colchester United: Macey, Goodliffe, Flanagan, Iandolo, Woodyard, Egbo, Bishop, Gordon, Payne, Hopper, Tovide.
Bromley: Smith, Reynolds, Grant, Webster, Arthurs, Imray, Odutayo, Leigh, Congreve, Whitely, Cheek.
Colchester head coach Danny Cowley:
“I think it’s always good to have the full week preparation and to have the week on the training pitch has been good.
“This can be so helpful, particularly for a new group.
“It’s important when you’ve got new relationships and new partnerships and different opponents – and in League Two, there are so many different opponents to play against who bring so many different challenges.
“The MK Dons game was a very different challenge to Harrogate which is such a different challenge to the Accrington game.”
Head to head
Colchester defender Ben Goodliffe is in line to return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench to score his side’s late equaliser at Accrington Stanley, last weekend.
He could come up against former Braintree Town, Stanway Rovers and Heybridge Swifts striker Michael Cheek, who has scored more than 100 goals for the club.
Opposition view
Bromley boss Andy Woodman told the club’s website: “I enjoyed my time at Colchester.
“It’s another ground we’re going to as Bromley Football Club which is all new to us and the supporters and hopefully not being that far away, we can take even more numbers than we took all the way to Bradford.
“I’m hoping we have a good turnout of fans to this game and we can really give a good account of ourselves.”
Last meeting
The last time Colchester played Bromley was back in November, 2009 when the teams met in the FA Cup first round.
Aidy Boothroyd’s U’s side ran out 4-0 winners that day, with goals from Simon Hackney (pictured above), Kayode Odejeyi, Clive Platt and Steven Gillespie.
Odds
Colchester are 11/10 to beat Bromley today, according to Paddy Power.
A Bromley win is seen as 23/10, with the draw 12/5.
