A VILLAGE shop has reopened with a new look as part of a £5 million investment.
The East of England Co-op food store in Kelvedon has been refurbished as part of the retailer's wider investment plan.
As the largest independent retailer in East Anglia, the improvements aim to enhance the sustainability and 'food-to-go' offerings across their stores.
The refurbishments are part of the East of England Co-op's strategy to reshape their portfolio, improving the customer experience and reducing the environmental impact of their stores.
The Kelvedon store, located on High Street, now has solar panels and eco-friendly refrigeration units.
It also has a new 'to-go' food range including fresh coffee, hot food, Tango Ice Blast, and Fwip ice cream.
Andy Rigby, chief operating officer at the East of England Co-op, said: "This investment has allowed us to enhance our member and customer journey through upgrades to store sustainability and improved shopping experience.
"This is part of our commitment to continue supporting the local communities these stores serve by providing quality products and exceptional customer service.
"We want to do everything we can to minimise our environmental impact, which is why we’re placing a large emphasis on the stores’ sustainability throughout these refurbishments."
